Terms and Conditions


Welcome to South Africa, where unforgettable travel experiences are created.


Rawson Touring – Cape Town & Garden Route Private Tours is a private touring division of Rawson Touring, offering bespoke, guided travel experiences across Cape Town, the Western Cape, and the Garden Route. With extensive local knowledge and professional experience in the tourism, wildlife, and hospitality industries, we are committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and memorable private tours tailored to your pace and interests.


Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. By making a booking with Rawson Touring – Cape Town & Garden Route Private Tours, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Definitions


“Company”, “We”, “Us” refers to Rawson Touring, including its private tour division trading as Rawson Touring – Cape Town & Garden Route Private Tours, registered and operating in South Africa.


“Client”, “You” refers to the person making the booking and all individuals included in that booking.


“Tour” refers to any private day tour, multi-day tour, transfer, or tailor-made itinerary offered by the Company.


“Private Tour” refers to a tour operated exclusively for the Client and their travel party, with no shared participants.


“Booking” refers to a confirmed reservation accepted by the Company.


“Price” refers to the total cost of the Tour as quoted and confirmed by the Company.


“Force Majeure” refers to any event beyond the Company’s reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemics, government regulations, strikes, war, civil unrest, or any circumstance rendering tour operations unsafe or impractical.

2. Bookings and Reservations


2.1. All Tours are subject to availability and written confirmation by the Company.

2.2. A Booking is only confirmed once written confirmation is issued and the required deposit or full payment has been received.

2.3. The person making the Booking warrants that they have the authority to accept these Terms and Conditions on behalf of all participants.

2.4. Clients are responsible for providing accurate personal and booking information. The Company shall not be liable for errors or omissions supplied by the Client.

2.5. Special requests (including dietary requirements, mobility considerations, child seats, or medical needs) must be communicated at the time of booking. While reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate such requests, they cannot be guaranteed.

3. Payment Policy


3.1. Multi-Day Private Tours (Cape Town & Garden Route)


3.1.1. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking unless otherwise stated in writing.

3.1.2. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 15 days prior to tour commencement.

3.1.3. Failure to settle the balance by the due date may result in automatic cancellation, with the deposit forfeited.

3.1.4. Payments may be made via approved electronic transfer, credit card, or other payment methods communicated by the Company.

3.1.5. All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.

3.1.6. Prices are subject to change until a Booking is confirmed in writing.


3.2. Private Day Tours


3.2.1. No deposit is required for most private day tours unless otherwise specified.

3.2.2. A “Reserve Now, Pay Later” option may be offered at the Company’s discretion.

3.2.3. Full payment is required no later than 72 hours prior to tour departure.

3.2.4. Failure to make payment by the required time may result in cancellation without further notice.

4. Cancellation by the Client


4.1. All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

4.2. For multi-day private tours, cancellation fees apply as follows:


More than 15 days prior to departure: Loss of deposit


12–8 days prior to departure: 50% of total Price


7–5 days prior to departure: 75% of total Price


Less than 5 days prior to departure or no-show: 100% of total Price



4.3. Tailor-made or custom itineraries may be subject to stricter cancellation terms, which will be communicated at the time of booking.

4.4. No refunds will be issued for unused services once a Tour has commenced.

4.5. Private full-day and half-day tours are subject to a 24–48 hour free cancellation policy, as specified at the time of booking.

5. Cancellation or Changes by the Company


5.1. The Company reserves the right to cancel, modify, or reschedule a Tour due to Force Majeure or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

5.2. In such cases, Clients will be offered either:


A full refund of monies paid, or


An alternative tour of comparable value, subject to availability.

5.3. The Company may adjust itineraries, routes, accommodation, or activities where operationally necessary, provided the overall tour experience remains substantially similar.

5.4. No additional compensation shall be payable beyond the options stated above.

6. Client Responsibilities


6.1. Clients are responsible for ensuring they meet all travel, visa, passport, and health requirements.

6.2. Participation in Tours is undertaken at the Client’s own risk. Clients must assess their physical suitability for all activities.

6.3. Respectful conduct toward guides, drivers, fellow guests, wildlife, and local communities is required at all times.

6.4. The Company reserves the right to terminate a Tour for any Client whose conduct is disruptive, unsafe, or unlawful, without refund.

6.5. Clients are responsible for their personal belongings. The Company accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage.

6.6. Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, cancellations, delays, and personal belongings is strongly recommended.

7. Liability


7.1. To the fullest extent permitted under South African law, the Company shall not be liable for loss, injury, illness, death, delay, or damage arising from:


Acts or omissions of third-party service providers


Force Majeure events


Accidents or unforeseen circumstances


Itinerary changes made for safety or operational reasons



7.2. The Company’s total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the Tour.

7.3. Certain activities carry inherent risks, which Clients voluntarily accept by participating.

8. Complaints


8.1. Any concerns should be raised immediately with the tour guide or Company representative to allow prompt resolution.

8.2. Written complaints must be submitted within 30 days of tour completion. The Company will investigate and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Governing Law


These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.

10. Data Protection


The Company processes personal information in accordance with applicable South African data protection laws. Personal data is used solely for booking, operational, legal, and communication purposes.

11. Amendments


The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most recent version published on the Company’s website shall apply.

12. Cape Town–Specific Tour Conditions


12.1. Weather & Natural Conditions

Tours may be affected by rapidly changing weather conditions. Attractions such as Table Mountain, Cape Point, or Chapman’s Peak Drive may close without notice for safety reasons. The Company accepts no liability for such closures.


12.2. Table Mountain Aerial Cableway

Cableway operations are subject to weather, maintenance, and operator decisions. Tickets are not guaranteed unless expressly included and pre-booked in writing.


12.3. Wine Estate Visits

Wine estate visits are subject to availability, estate policies, and licensing laws. Tasting fees are included only where explicitly stated. Responsible alcohol consumption is required.


12.4. Traffic & City Events

Traffic congestion, road closures, public events, or city regulations may impact travel times and routes. Such delays do not constitute grounds for a refund.


12.5. Beaches & Marine Activities

Ocean-based activities are subject to sea conditions and safety regulations. Cancellations imposed by authorities or operators are beyond the Company’s control.


12.6. Urban Safety

Clients must follow guide instructions regarding personal safety and movement within urban areas. The Company is not liable for incidents arising from independent actions.


12.7. Pick-Up & Drop-Off Locations

Pick-up and drop-off points may be adjusted due to city by-laws, traffic enforcement zones, or access restrictions.
